“I believe Hong Kong Contemporary 2013 has manifested the principle of morality beyond the mere display of artworks. Its will to share and interact with the society through social contribution and responsibility, outshines along with its deliberate attention of delivering the artistic pleasure to the public.”
Chong Byeong-guk
Member of the National Assembly Republic of Korea,
Former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea

Hong Kong Contemporary -
The Pioneer of new generation Art Fair
Since its debut last year, Hong Kong Contemporary has been bringing new dimensions to art fair. We have introduced many novel concepts, proven to be followed by various art fairs locally and around the world. In our 2nd edition of Hong Kong Contemporary this year, we will bring even more thrilling and highly diverse arts as well as programs to Hong Kong.
This May, Hong Kong Contemporary is proudly showcasing the video works by over 50 British video artists: a 2 hour long video program featuring poetic moving images from 6th ‘One Minute’ program and a collective work from London Animation Club. This is definitely a program not to be missed for forefront art lovers who heart new media arts.
Also for the first time in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Contemporary will present artworks from Iran, Iraq and Cuba. This is a very rare opportunity to have a glimpse of the emerging contemporary art scenes and enjoy a cultural exchange, which is especially essential when Hong Kong is still hobbling in the journey of searching for its own subjectivity almost 16 years after the handover.
